Enjoy Living is thrilled to have partnered exclusively with Danish design company Piffany Copenhagen to bring its curation of award-winning design houses, under the brand collective EKTA Living, to Australia and New Zealand.

The Piffany Copenhagen creative team is now headed up by powerhouse duo Signe and Sune Wirth Engelund, formerly byWirth.

“We look forward to being able to put all our efforts into the creative process under a company that matches our values and reach more people with our design,” the duo says.

“We share a philosophy that demands that our designs should be beautiful, functional as well as created with sensitivity for our planet. This has been our dogma at byWirth and we are excited to continue this work at Piffany.”

The EKTA Living brand sees designers David Krynauw, John Vogel, Knud Holscher with Signe and Sune Wirth, bring together a collection of exquisite and functional furniture and accessories, designed to empower the creation of beautifully curated spaces for the kitchen, bathroom and living room.

Furniture designer David Krynauw creates stunningly simple bespoke Holmes wooden occasional and side tables for the EKTA Living Collection. Having grown up in a forestry region of South Africa, being constantly surrounded by trees, he developed an immense passion for the medium. Krynauw’s work pushes the boundaries in every possible way; there is more to his designs than meets the eye.

John Vogel’s connection to the natural world is evident in both his designs and conservation practices, designing Nguni Heads, where functionality meets design aesthetic and produced in Woodstock, Cape Town.

“We strive for a closed cycle metabolism by designing smaller products that are made from our factory offcuts, minimising our waste outputs as well as contributing towards tree planting.”

Knud Holscher has attracted international attention with the design of his products. Sleek design meets functionality with Holscher’s Firekeeper, an attractive and ingenious tool for starting and tending fires in woodburning stoves, open fireplaces and outdoor grills, while its aesthetic appeal makes it ideal to showcase like a piece of art. Inspired by the American Indians, Holscher, like Vogel and Krynauw, has a deep connection to land, culture and sustainability while creating stunning, elegantly simple and stylish designs for living spaces.

Focusing on natural materials and a long-term design philosophy, Signe Wirth Engelund is best known for her coveted Scala stools and benches, the practical yet elegant wood knots and racks and a bathroom and kitchen accessory curation showcasing the best of Danish design.

“Our products are all made with love for the material and their natural characteristics and interaction. We love the scent of oak and leather, we love the feeling of the material and we really love how they age with beauty and patina,” she says.
